Eligibility Checklist

If you cannot tick all the boxes - we advise you contact us first before you apply to the scheme.

1. Access to £3,000 to cover the initial costs of buying a home.
2. To be in permanent employment - not temporary.
People on fixed term contracts may apply.
3. A minimum income to ensure you can obtain a mortgage to buy a property. As a general rule this starts at around £18,000 pa (single or joint), this minimum figures can vary depending on where you want to live. Exceptions are possible where you have a large capital sum as a down payment. Maximum household income (single or joint) is £60,000.
4. Demonstrate you cannot afford to purchase a property that meets your current housing needs, without our assistance.
5. Demonstrate you are not in mortgage or rent arrears, or have been in breach of your tenancy agreement in the last 12 months.
6. That you have not been declared bankrupt, you have or have had, County Court Judgements (CCJs) or loan defaults served against you in the last 2 years.
7. You are a British national citizen or have permanent leave to remain in the UK. People from member states of the EU may also apply if they are currently living and working in the UK.
8. You must be 18 years of age or over and have a bank account.
9. You must not have debts in excess of £15,000 (up to £20,000 for student loans).
10. You should not own a property that meets your current housing needs. Exceptions may include relationship breakdowns.
